Office Assistant - Anesthesia
Job ID: R1052514 Type: Full Time Location: Voorhees Township, New Jersey Standard Hours: 40 Shift: 1st ShiftPosition is hybrid between working in the Administrative Anesthesia Office in Voorhees, NJ and remote/home. At times, when needed, may need to work at Anesthesia Office at Virtua Voorhees/Marlton Hospitals and/or Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes- Camden, NJ, and remote/home.
Anesthesia OA Responsibilities
- Answers all incoming calls to Anesthesia West & South department.
- Monitors and manages Anesthesia West and Anesthesia South general email inboxes.
- Handles insurance referrals and authorizations.
- Facilitates enrolling patients into MyChart.
- Patient scheduling in Epic.
- OB Consult coordination with Director of Obstetric Anesthesia.
- Maintains call out logs.
- Works with Anesthesia West & South Practice Manager on staff scheduling.
- Maintaining staff reports in conjunction with EPIC for Lead CRNAs and OR Medical Directors.
- Supports VMG Billing with various administrative duties.
- Handles incoming mail, interoffice, faxes.
- Schedules meetings, luncheons, and runs office related errands.
- Ability to be flexible to work location without notice (office vs remote).
- Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel without notice.
- Must be fluent in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Epic, Qgenda, and Sling a plus.
- Prior office/administrative experience is preferred.
Telehealth consults appointments:
- Verify Benefits in portal or via phone call.
- Enters and tracks appointments, coverage, copay, and referral needs.
- Enter OB/ Specialist Referral form in EPIC.
- Creates schedules and books appointment with patients in EPIC.
Patient self-pay estimates:
- Collects and inputs patient’s information and verify patient demographics.
- Confirm CPT code and estimated duration of procedure.
- Verify in Professional calculator for rates. Provide patient with the rate.
- Calculates and provides the patients estimated out of pocket/self-pay cost in conjunction with patient’s health insurance provider.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must have strong multi-tasking abilities and computer literacy.
0-2 years Medical Office experience.
Required Education:
HS diploma or equivalent.
