This position is to cover the OR from 7p to 7a (11.5 hours per shift) Monday to Friday

Function as scrub or circulating nurse for all general surgery cases performed from 11p to 7a
Gather supplies and prepare or rooms for all surgical specialty cases performed form 11p to 7a and support specialty staff in performance of other specialty cases

*Must be able to scrub and circulate for the following specialties, vascular, general, GU and GYN

Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of nursing care.  The professional nurse assumes the responsibility and accountability for the appropriate delegation of patient care to other members of the health care team

Education: Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience: 0-1 years’ experience required, 2-4 years’ experience preferred

License/Certification Required:

New Jersey RN license

CPR for Healthcare Providers

ACLS

PALS

License/Certification Preferred:

CNOR

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

Successfully completes initial competency verification for clinical area.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Organizational skills

Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written.

Ability to handle confidential information

Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking, and priority setting skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred:

Prior OR experience

Ability to perform diversified duties with time limitations with high degree of accuracy

Physical Effort:

Frequent/strenuous physical effort  (e.g. heavy lifting, sustained physical effort, extensive carrying, pushing, pulling, etc.)
